1. Seaspiracy, Ali Tabrizi

Tabrizi, who is passionate about ocean life, sets out to document the harm that people cause to marine animals – and finds frightening worldwide corruption in the process. It is shocking, heartbreaking and informative. It gives you a new perspective on the global fishing industry and how it is contributing to the climate and environmental crisis. We recommend this documentary to everyone who is debating whether or not to become a vegetarian or vegan.

This film exposes the day-to-day techniques employed by the world’s major industries that rely on animals for profit, thanks to concealed cameras. A word of warning: the brutal reality of these industries portrayed will likely overwhelm, shock, and dishearten you, however it is necessary to watch.

7. More Than Honey, Markus Imhoof

An insight into honey bee colonies in California, Switzerland, China and Australia. This film is not only full of intriguing, enlightening, and sometimes scary information, but it’s also great cinematic entertainment. The photography and filming is amazing and the story is captivating from start to finish.

8. The True Cost, Andrew Morgan

This documentary, which stars Livia Firth, Stella McCartney, Vandana Shiva, and others, explores the influence of the fashion industry on our planet and the people who live on it. The film travels to 13 different countries to learn more about the consequences ‘Fast Fashion’ has on the environment and the people who work in the industry. A must see for all consumers!

Director Damon Gameau embarks on a trip to see what the world might be like in 2040 if we just adopted the smartest solutions for improving our planet that are already accessible to us and had them at the forefront. With interesting ideas throughout the film, it shows a optimistic, motivating view on what may be in 2040.
